Youth activists and groups in the Gaza Strip called on Palestinians to join a peaceful rally to be staged Monday outside offices of US organizations in protest at the murder of a Muslim family by an American extremist.
23-year-old Dhia Barakat, from Syria, along with his 21-year-old Palestinian wife Yosr Abu Salha and her sister Razan, 19, were shot dead Wednesday afternoon by an American citizen near North Carolina University.
The youth groups denounced, in a statement Thursday, the silence maintained by the American mass media and the US administration on what they said was a terrorist attack.
The activists called for closing the headquarters of American institutions in Gaza, including Amideast, the Orthodox charity and Mercy Corps.
